“Lebensfluten – Tatensturm” (“Flood of Life – Storm of Deeds”) - new exhibition in a new light

The Goethe Nationalmuseum in Weimar has been showcasing itself in a new light with a new exhibition since summer 2012. In view of current considerations, light planners worked with Hoffmeister to re-equip two floors of the museum with efficient lighting that would not be harmful to the exhibits.
Spotlights from Hoffmeister’s gin.o product series are used throughout. These are equipped with specific lighting lenses for different types of illumination. The colour-drenched walls set the scene for the exhibits, staged in narrow-beam accentuated light. Other areas of the walls are evenly and widely illuminated using prismatic filters and sculpture lenses, sometimes in combination with antiglare flaps.
The LED luminaires used achieve 900 lumens of output with just 14 watts of system power. The LED modules guarantee that no damaging UV-A, UV-B or UV-C radiation is produced. At 3000K, the LEDs only have a minimal blue content between 430 and 480 nm. This is fundamental to protecting light-sensitive exhibits and an indicator of the high quality of the components used.
