Expressive lighting for St. Peter and Paul’s Church
The Church of St. Peter and Paul in Mechelen is an important Baroque building from the early 18th century and is one of the city’s most impressive religious buildings. The richly decorated interior with its monumental paintings, gilded ornaments and ornate sculptures placed special demands on the lighting: it had to preserve the spiritual atmosphere while at the same time precisely highlighting every detail of the architecture and works of art.
In order to optimally highlight the artistic and architectural qualities of the interior, lighting solutions from Hoffmeister were chosen.
Customised lighting with downlights and spotlights
Downlights from the complx.200 series were used for general lighting, providing balanced basic brightness with their homogeneous light distribution and high colour rendering. In addition, spotlights from the lo.nely 2 series were installed to accentuate the numerous large-scale pictures, wall sculptures and ornaments. Their precise lighting technology enables a differentiated presentation that respectfully showcases the historical substance.
