Lighting design in a historic setting
The Hülsmann Museum in Bielefeld is located in the former director’s villa of the Ravensberg spinning mill and houses one of the most important collections of decorative art objects in North Rhine-Westphalia. Porcelain, glass, furniture and textiles are presented there in a museum setting that combines historical atmosphere with modern exhibition design. One of the key challenges for the lighting was to showcase the delicate exhibits gently yet effectively – with high colour fidelity and flexible lighting control.
In order to meet the high demands for light quality, flexibility and precision, Hoffmeister lighting solutions were chosen.
Precise accentuation with lo.nely 2
lo.nely 2 spotlights were used for the permanent exhibition. The compact spotlights with a colour temperature of 3000 K and rotationally symmetrical light distribution enable precise and harmonious illumination of the objects. By selecting different beam angles, the light cones could be individually adapted to the size and shape of the exhibits. The result is a balanced lighting concept that enhances both the aesthetics of the collection and the spatial atmosphere of the museum.
