Precise lighting for art and history — Hasselt City Museum

In the centre of Hasselt’s old town, the city museum invites visitors to rediscover the city’s history. With exhibitions and scenographic displays, it provides insights into its cultural, historical and social heritage – and brings the region’s identity to life in an impressive way.

In 2023, the lighting concept was comprehensively modernised: all lighting components were converted to an intelligent, high-quality LED system from Hoffmeister.

Lighting solution in detail

The Hoffmeister form.h44 profile system was used for the project, supplemented by control.x tracks and spotlights from the gin.o 2 series. This combination enables a flexible, precise and intuitively controllable lighting system – ideal for changing exhibitions and a wide variety of room situations.
The modular structure of the profile system integrates both directional accent lighting for exhibits and harmonious basic lighting. Motion sensors activate the light as needed, saving energy and extending the service life of the luminaires.
The result is a modern, energy-efficient and future-proof lighting solution that bathes the Hasselt City Museum in a new, atmospherically balanced light.
