Precise lighting for the atrium of the National Museum in Prague
The National Museum in Prague is one of the most important cultural institutions in the Czechia and presents its collections in an architecturally impressive historic building. The spacious atrium, characterised by monumental sculptures and an imposing ceiling height, places high demands on precise yet discreet lighting. In particular, the large distance between the mounting point and the exhibits required a lighting solution that would ensure both range and a three-dimensional presentation of the works of art.
In order to meet these requirements in the atrium, a lighting solution from Hoffmeister was chosen, whose performance is impressive even over long distances.
Lighting technology for long distances in the museum atrium
li.co series spotlights are used in the atrium. They enable targeted accentuation of the numerous sculptures from an installation height of around 16 metres. The use of narrow beam optics precisely bridges the distance and at the same time effectively emphasises the three-dimensionality of the exhibits. The optics, which can be changed without tools, and the clear, understated design of the spotlights ensure unobtrusive integration into the architecture and a homogeneous, high-quality light image.
