Precise lighting for delicate exhibits
The Palaeontological Museum in Nierstein is dedicated to the fascinating history of prehistoric creatures and displays impressive fossil finds from the region.
A particular challenge for the lighting was to precisely highlight the fine structures and surfaces of the exhibits without damaging them with excessive heat or glare. At the same time, the lighting had to create a pleasant atmosphere that would encourage visitors to linger and explore.
To ensure optimal presentation of the fossils, the museum relied on Hoffmeister’s spotlight technology.
Targeted accentuation with ak.tina 1
ak.tina 1 spotlights were used – compact, miniaturised luminaires with precise light control and high colour rendering (CRI > 90). Their flexible alignment enables targeted accent lighting that shows each exhibit in the best possible light. Thanks to different beam angles, both spot and area lighting scenarios can be realised, effectively emphasising the natural structure and depth of the fossils. With their minimalist design, the spotlights blend discreetly into the exhibition concept and contribute to an atmospherically balanced museum lighting scheme.
