Lighting concepts for swimming pools

We at Hoffmeister SILL have developed products for swimming pool lighting precisely to meet these special requirements for use in indoor or outdoor pools. Our aim is to optimally implement both the technical requirements and necessities as well as the planning possibilities of harmonious and effective lighting. Because only with perfect, technically mature products can lighting concepts be optimally implemented.

Swimming pools differ in terms of architecture, pool size and, last but not least, their respective character. Besides the typical 25-metre swimming pools for leisure swimmers, there are event swimming pools with a variety of wellness oases and fun slides. Sports pools, on the other hand, are designed for top-level competitions with 50-m swimming lanes and may also need lighting suitable for television.

Integrated lighting with downlights

Where ceiling heights are low, asymmetrical floodlights are used to illuminate the entire pool exclusively from the pool edge. Thanks to the favourable positioning, easier maintenance of the luminaires is of course an advantage here.

Indirect lighting with spotlights

Indirect lighting only, where light is directed onto the water via the ceiling, is used to support a pleasant atmosphere in the swimming pool. The asymmetrical light does not cast any unpleasant shadows and emphasises the room height and thus the transparency of a swimming pool.

But changing rooms, sanitary areas and functional areas also require an optimal lighting concept. The lighting of shower areas requires solutions specially adapted to humid environments as well as a warm white light colour of 3000 K, which contributes to relaxation and well-being.
Foyer, cash desk area and cafeteria or restaurant are publicly accessible areas that contribute to the functionality and quality of stay of a swimming pool. An inviting atmosphere is often created with functional downlights and decorative luminaires.
